    Anyone own a Kia??

Wifa is looking for a new car and was looking at a Kia. I like everything about the car except the label on the front. Anyone have one of these things?

    Looking at the Kia optima.

    TIA

Bought a Kia Sportage in Dec and after 3K miles so far, I could not be happier. Kia and Hyundai have everybody whipped right now IMO.

FWIW, I travel about 40 weeks a year and try to get a rental car I've not driven before each trip so that I really know what is out there and what I want to own.

Next year my wife gets a new car and right now it's a toss up between the Optima and a Hyundai Genesis. I don't care that they are import brands; they come off assembly lines in the USA.

I have three a Sorento , Amantia and foreta. I have had no trouble out of two of them but the Amantia is in the shop for a new motor the timeing belt broke and it is a interfearance motor. The Foreta gets 32 to 36 Mpg and has lots of pep

Ive worked on them before and I can say that if you dont stay on top of the timing belts the motor is toast when it breaks.

This and parts are hard to find, but other then that I have not heard any other complaints from several friends that own them.

Well I bought a 2011 Sorento back in December, it is the 4 cyl, suppose to have the timming chain, no belt, can't complain about gas milage, getting around 25-26 in town and 30-31 on Hwy, the only thing is it has a lot of rattles and sounds like someting is loose in front end, have had it in twice and they say can't find anything, said that the rattles and noise is just a KIA, so guess I have got to live with it.

                      God Bless

I have a 2006.5 Optima with 122,340 miles on it. Its been a great car. The only thing I had to do was change the timing belt and the harmonic balancer.

I also have a 2008 Sorento that my wife drives. It has had no problems but only has 11,000 miles on it.

I am not saying that they are the most luxurious cars but they are very nice for the money.

And for those that worry about the Made in America label, that has been addressed in an earlier post. They do come off assembly lines here the states. Also I own a 1995 Chevy Z71 extended cab with 85,200 miles and a 2007 Chevy Silverado Duramax with 16,000 miles. I love my trucks too!

Just don't expect much of a re-sell value.
