I'm looking forward to the late season this year. Our 7 acre pond is full of water and duck weed. I'm hoping for limits of gadwall and ringnecks after Christmas!

My son shot the NE CA duck opening day today (10/6) up near the Oregon border. I have not been able to reach him to hear how many fell from the sky to his Extrema.

I've been gettin my calling down.. practicing and stuff. I usually go with my brother, but he's in college now, and I just turned 16, so i gotta stop relyin on him for everything. can't wait.
somebody told me that a feeding call doesn't really work. yall know anything about that?

for most beginners its best to leave the calls at home

when u go out watch and listen to the ducks and learn from it, also keep practicing. u can also buy a cd to help u learn the basics

thats what i used is a cd.
my brother told me not to call alot, just lay out a good spread of decoys and use the calls to get their attention, get them to look at the decoys, then shutup.
That is why i was curious about the feeding call.
