I will have to take some picures tomorrow of some blades off a slick trick. The blades look serated now after a few(10 tops) shots into the foam target. I ttok it as a bad batch of blades and bought some new ones. Sharp head I will still use them along with rage 2 blades.

You probably have the old blades, when did you buy the heads? last year they started outsourcing the blade production to a german knife maker, these blades are super high grade steel, never seen a bh blade that holds its edge like these do. If you send in the old blades they will replace them with the new high end ones for free.

I have all new blades, and they do get torn up when the go through an animal. If it's not too bad I resharpen, often I just replace them.
I am still sucking down the ST kool aid. I just love those heads. Any better and you could wave them around like Tinkerbell's wand and the critters would fall over dead
Shot an axis last night, he went no more than 15 yds and fell down dead. Single lunged a spike last week and he went 100 yds, bleeding hard, and fell down dead. Don't they say single lung shots are not always fatal?
There might be a better head out there (although I doubt it) but I'll probably never know about it. I can't imagine a reason to switch.

I've shot several mule deer with them and the only thing that failed was the deer's vitals.
I did have a miss last year late one evening....probably too late. Shot under a big buck, hit a rock and saw a shower of sparks that amazed me. I knew I missed the deer but we looked for a blood trail anyway.....until after midnight. Couldn't find the arrow either! Looked for it again the next day. I found that arrow last March while scouting a trail way down the mountain. It had hit the rock, went airborne and landed 125 yards downhill. One blade was slightly bent and scarred, otherwise the arrow was in good shape. After seeing that shower of sparks, I figured the head would be demolished.

I am not saying the ST failed, the animals were dead. It just could have been a case of the fat closing the hole with the pigs. I have only shot 2 animals with ST's too. I have shot alot more with the Shuttle T. It is what I am confident in.....Just like bows....as Big D says, "Shoot what makes you."

Thanks for posting Gary (Oldhootowl). You don't see the owners of Muzzy, Rage, Shuttle T, Montec, NAP......or any broadhead company adding to forum discussions promptly when there are questions about their products. Gary always has some good common sense answers without a lot of spin.
Gary can attest (because I write the checks to him) that I have sold hundreds and hundreds of packs of ST's and I have had 2....thats two ferrules break at the threads. These were the old style ferrules (at least 3 years ago) and both killed the animals that they were shot into. Gary has changed the ferrule design since then and I have had no more reports of ferrule breakage.
Like I always say... love em or not....ST's get a lot of attention and kill a lot of animals. Keep doing what you are doing Gary.

Hey Arrowsmith, how does one get in touch with you? I guess there's no PMs on TBH.
Thanks all for the input. I think the guide either saw a wierd fluke case, or, it possibly wasn't even a ST.
Tink can you answer the question about if you can change heads on an arrow after gluing the alum arrow piece on them?
Thanks GARY!
Todd
