Im an Astros or Lastros fan. They're not playing tonight so I got to watch a really good team play. The Rangers are stacked. Fun to watch for a change. When I lived in McKinney I had season tickets to the Rangers and was there for the opening of The Ballpark.

I would have got rid of Tom Grieve loooong before I would have got rid of Josh Lewin. Grieve sucked as a GM and he sucks as an announcer. Josh Lewin and Steve Busby would have been a great combo.

I havn't watched much of the TV broadcast the last couple weeks, but Rhads seems to be getting a little better....still behind on everything though. But he's still way better than Lewyn, imo.

Good to see the boys put a few on the board last night, I wish Davis would figure out how to hit in the bigs.....but I just don't think it's gonna happen with the Rangers.

I'm just glad my CUZ is a radio voice for the Rangers.

              I like TAG as well.

TAG is good. Lewyn and Rhadigan are different, but equally mediocre. I wish they had somebody to put with TAG that was as good as he is.

I guess I haven't forgave Grieve for some of the bonehead trades he made while he was GM of the team. Such as trading Ruben Sierra,Jeff Russell and Bobby Witt for Jose Canseco.Three solid major leaguers for a past-his-prime home run hitter.Dumb. Grieve will also be forever known as the man who traded away a young Sammy Sosa. And his broadcasting style is a bit too deadpan for my taste.

I'll take Rhadigan over Josh Lewin any day. BTW, you RARELY hear anyone refer to Mr. Grieve as TAG since Josh L. left. Rhads is terrible but I still think he beats the heck out of what we had. At least he will improve. I'm sure we had Josh Lewin at his zenith.

you can't blame Grieve for trading Sosa. he was a skinny little outfielder until he started using steroids and corked bats. Canseco had some life left until he blew out his arm. Sierra got too interested in getting pumped up and juiced. his best years were behind him.

I liked Josh L. He was a live wire and never a dull moment, can't say that for Rhadigan.
                        To each his own.

Agreed....Rhads is dull dull dull!! Hard for me to hear and understand Rhads sometimes as well.

I guess I just liked Josh's clarity, his baseball knowledge and his excitement. He was goofier than a wooden watch on camera but I liked his play by play for my team.

Apparently the White Sox GM saw something in Sosa that Grieve missed. Sosa,Canseco and Sierra were all juicing,so that's not a valid argument.Canseco probably the worst.Witt and Russell were very popular Rangers at the time. There's no way I would have made the Oakland trade regardless.

the white sox saw so much in him they shipped him to their cross town rival the cubs. when sierra started juicing he bulked up too much and lost flexability. he had a hall of fame swing and ruined it. i agree with the popularity of witt and russell though. witt was still a good player, but i think russell was on the decline.

Reuben Sierra was the biggest underachiever to ever play baseball. He had all the skills of his look-alike hero, Roberto Clemente'. But he was LAZY. His position in right field had nothing to do with where a batter might hit a ball. It had everything to do with where the shadow of the light pole happened to be at the moment. Early in the game, he'd be way over by the foul line just so he could stand in a little bit of a shadow. Later in the game, he'd be in DEEP right standing in the same shadow. Sometimes he'd show his skill and ability when he'd hustle and make a phenomenal play, but most of the time he'd go about 50%.
