Worked for me. I did a lot of changes before I got the DVD from AJ, but if you think about TP, it is basically a mental aspect of shooting and shooting form. This is what his DVD deals with. I highly recommend it. Will it work for you, I do not know that answer, but I would give it a try.

I was fortunate enough to receive one of Andy's original offers and it has definitely helped. With that said, I have not been able to shoot as often as I would like due to an injury. It sounds crazy, but the mental part of listening to his DVD carried right over into shooting. I was skeptical like you, but its really something to try. I will post as I am able to shoot more to give continued feedback.

I used to get TP really bad, but now I'm in denial.
I'm too busy shooting to get TP. Write down your steps to shoot, starting with your stance and work each step mentally to execute the shot. If you skip a step or stop the conciousness from working, let down and start over. It is like remembering a long passage or song.

For those that are wanting to know if this is just snake oil or the real deal. I have had this problem for at least the last ten years. I have tried everything I could to help me shoot better. But luckilybit never affected my hunting.....until last year. I fell apart. Really got me down. I posted on this thread and was fortunate enough to get his info. I did as instructed and IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference. The more I used it the better I got. Now I can actually hold my pin on the target. I do not flinch and I do not have the feeling of doom or dread I used to have. If you have ever had even the slightest bit of worry during your shooting or if you flinch or can not hold your pins on the target (as I USED to have) you really need to try this. I wish I had done this 10.years ago.....I would not have screwed up a shot on a 170" buck.

My version of target panic is what i call "drive by shooting". I for whatever reason have trouble holding steady when I "Aim Small Miss Small" so when the site pin aproaches the target I hurry and shoot. I have cured this by 1. Letting down if I am not stable. 2. holding steady for three seconds then pretending i am going to see the arrow hit the tagget through the site while slowly applying pressure.

As I mentioned above, I have fought this for a long time. For those who have never had it, you cannot imagine how frustrating it is. Contrary to what many conclude, it is not a matter of working on form. Shot process is a factor, but once you have ingrained TP, identifying and burning in your shot process is not a quick fix. In essence, you know in your head you should do 1, then 2, then 3, then 4. And you are physically fully capable. But your brain in essence decides; why bother with 2 and 3. Just go from 1 to 4. And no matter how much you work at it, you cannot seem to control it. In fact, working hard at it makes it worse. Your subconscious (I think) overrides your conscious and you do what you have just told yourself over and over you are not going to do. Crazy.
At my worst, I had horrible flinches. After killing over 100 white tails over 25 years of bow hunting, my last shot of last year was a disaster. At the moment of release, I jerked my bow arm and made a terrible shot. Not fun.
I am working with a back tension release, and seeing some benefit. However, I am going to seek help from AJ. I have heard enough here already to make it worth an honest effort.
Thanks for the help.

I have had the same problem, finally after several bows, sights, releases, i came to realize it was all me. My problem was, I would get locked under the target. I could draw and aim, and could hold steady on target with my pin, untill I brought my finger over to the trigger. Once I did that BAM......locked under, and could not get past mental block to move it up to the spot. Once that happened, I started teaching myself all sorts of bad habbits, the bump and shoot, the rattle snake, the drop and punch. And I suffered from this for years off and on. I didnt dare shoot at anthing target wise past 20 yards. What is helping me, is getting my upper body back in shape. Being stronger in my upper body has given me more confidence, and not so panickey about getting rid of the arrow.
I also shoot , probably the most forgiving bow on the market( BOW TECH DESTROYER 340 ) You can conquer this, If I did, any one can!

AJ's DVD is basically dealing with the mental aspect of target panic. You listen to it late a night before you go to bed or as you are going to sleep. I knew from the first time I litened to it that it was going to help me. I thought all the next day about what Andy said on the DVD and how it related to my mental aspect of shooting. Also, Huntinfool hit the nail on the head by saying that if you do not think it will affect your hunting you are kidding yourself. Lots of ways to deal with TP, but this DVD definitley helped and helped better than anything I have tried and spent money on and that has been a lot!

It reared it's ugly head back in 1998. I missed 5 deer in the first month and a half of the season that year. All 20 yards and under. One at 5 yards! I still punch the trigger and I can't shoot 3D with my compound. Ive tried expensive releases of every type. Blind bale helps but as soon as I put my finger close to the trigger I can feel the panic.
I rarely shoot a compound anymore. It hasn't messed with me shooting my trad bows so that's all I shoot now.
Amazing to see how many people this affects!

I was lucky enough to get the program from AJ when it was offered eariler due to someone backing out or not responding. I honestly did not or have a severe case of TP but shoot fingers and since I shoot "On Demand" if you will I was wanting to increase concentration before the shot is executed to pull off the "perfect shot" each and every time. I am here to tell you guys this program worked for me and is probably the best think I have done to imporve my shooting in years, I do however strongly feel that you will only get out of the program what you put into it.
I used the program often when I received it and began to see results quickly and currently utilize the program on occassion as "maintenance".
I am not saying the program will work for everyone but as you can see I am very impressed and wish I would known about it sooner.
I don't fully understand how the program works as far as the subconscious think goes and all and don't really care as long as I continue to have the benefits of being commited to the program.Last edited by Lowe; 08-02-2011, 11:09 AM.

A clarification: it's a CD, not a DVD.
Back in April my sole motivation was to get these five guys exorcised from their TP demons. I had no aspirations at the time to make any kind of business out of it. The thing that put me over the edge was that I kept getting pm's from guys practically begging me to help them, too.
Iow, there were simply a whole lot more folks out there with this insidious disease than I'd ever imagined.
Anyone else interested can pm me for a nice deal or go to Classifieds.Last edited by AJ the TP Guru; 08-02-2011, 01:15 PM.
