    Lazy, lazy lazy lazy

Yesterday I head to the local big box (the one related to Wally). As I finish up my shopping, I am leaving their lot and see a man standing on the corner with a sign "Homeless, need help, God Bless" I have mixed emotions about these folks, times are hard, no doubt, the Christian in me says you gotta help. As I pull up closer, something catches my eye....

On the same square of land as the Wally world sits a Burger King. BK has a huge sign that usually advertises Whoppers. However this time, and directly over the panhandlers shoulder the large BK sign say "Help Wanted" :doh
    I wish I had taken a picture.

I decided if he wasn't motivated enough to cross the parking lot and fill out an app, I wasn't motivated enough to open my wallet.

I used to give these guys a little money all the time. Once I didn't have much money so I took a guy a chicken dinner instead. I got a cussin' for my trouble. So I went back inside and later watched the guy leave in a cadillac.

Most are scams. I sat one day to watch one and after awhile he took off around the corner got I'n his truck and drove off. So the next day i walked by him and he says sir can you spare any money or a smoke. I looked at Jim and said tell me what you make a day and I'll give you a smoke. He looked at me and said 200 dollars and that's usually by noon. And tax free. Never again will i help any of them out. And no i didnt give him anything. I called him out and was so ****** i made him leave. Called and made a report.

Mental illness comes in many flavors.....a large majority of these folks are simply incapacitated (self inflicted or other).

TOUCHY SUBJECT HERE... I THINK YOU JUST HAVE TO GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING... IF IT SAYS FOR YOU TO HELP THEM OUT THEN DO THAT BUT IF IT SAYS MOVE ALONG THEN GO WITH THAT... THAT BEING SAID, I THINK YOU DID THE RIGHT THING...

I think Phantom hit the nail on the head. Go with your gut feeling. If you feel that they need the money, then give it to them. If they go around the corner and get in a BMW, then they will face their judgement. If you give in the right spirit, you will be rewarded. JMO

It's hard to imagine God being upset with any of us showing mercy to another image-bearer of God. Keep Paul's words from I Thess. in mind, "if a man does not work, he should not eat" but remember the character of our God at the same time.

I agree. Not all of these people are scams. I realize that most are. You can't let that keep you from wanting to do the right thing. You can't let a bunch of bottom feeders ruin it for those that really need it.

Most fast food companies will not hire someone off the street. When I was a teenager I worked at a fast food place. Homeless people would come in all the time looking for work. Our ***** manager would make them leave to store. They were just looking for work and trying to do the right thing.

Karma is a "you know what" so if they are a scam they will get theirs down the road.

Some are scams, some are not.... when you see a "homeless village" you know its rreall.. There were about 10 of these camped out behind the home depot for a long time....

I also think that the homeless village is the ones who spotted bigfoot here in SA
