It wasn't that bad since I felt it soon as I pulled out of the driveway, called advance, got the parts and changed them before work...lol

Had one of the rear pads on my old 2002 Chevy p/u detach from the backing plate and "go away", instant metal-on-metal. Happened at about 65,000 miles.

I had a front pad shed a liner going about 65mph, when the brake pad wedged over sideways it took me straight into oncoming traffic......lucky traffic was light...

My wife did. It was the only set of pads on her car that didn't have squeal tabs. Wore down the lining, then the backing paper thin, then ingested it. The piston popped out, cocked 45 degrees and ground half way down. Destroyed the caliper and the rotor. I check my pads every oil change when I rotate the tires.

these were still the original pads....still had over half their life left after two years...well, three out of the four did....one of them must have just separated or something...the two little pads just plain disappeared

Fought a fire on a ranch monday, foound where a truck lost his brake pads. Parts were in the bar ditch where the fire started, the other parts were melted to the asphalt in the shoulder.

I had the same thing happen. It is no fun going for the brakes and them not being there

you know...I might need to go back and look at that....this was a back pad and you know how they have that metal shield pretty much all the way around on the back side....wonder if that pad is stuck back in there....

                          brb....
