    Who's kept New Yrs resolution?

Okay, we are in April now. Who is keeping their new year's resolution? I have been diligent (so far) in diet and exercise. I do have motivation this year...two beach vacactions booked and I am concerned about being harpooned by a passing whaling ship while I am snorkeling!

Things I have learned as the weight has been disappearing (in no particular order):

I have toes...attached to feet!!!! Actually looked down and saw them the other day!

I have ribs! Grey was right! I can actually see them under the skin.

Its apparently NOT natural to get winded while sitting down tying a shoe.

Its actually possible to walk up one flight of stairs without having an EMT on speed dial.

Healthy food (including vegetables) don't taste that bad if you are hungry enough to eat bricks topped with concrete.

Those aren't stunt people on tv bending over and touching the floor. It really is possible!!!

What have you learned from your resolution?

haven't had a coke this entire year. I know that I'm going to break down eventually. I have had Ice tea and lots of powerade and gatorade! I have dropped over 15 pounds.

I've learned that getting started was the hardest part. Diet and exercise was my resolution as well. I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs. After hitting the gym in the mornings and watching what I eat I am still 220 lbs but the 36x34 jeans are getting baggy and the 34x34 jeans are coming back out of storage!

I vowed to turn off the tv more and get some exercise in the evenings. Not so much to lose weight but to just stay in shape. So I bought an old beach-cruiser type of bike with coaster brakes (no gears etc). 3x week I do 10+ miles on it. 2x week I walk at least 6 miles. That thread about the backpack elk trip to colorado just gave me more incentive to up the distances and indentify a new goal for my bucket list.

I made a few but the main one was to be active and eat healthier smaller portions. I am down almost 10 lbs and in better shape now than in mid 20s.

I learned that even the slightest effort to stay on track goes a long way.

Good luck to all to stick with it and to achieving your goals.

Stopped dipping for about a week.

6 or 7 days in my wife walked over handed me my can and said you need a dip!

Guess I was being really nice that day

Great wife...that or she wanted something special from you and the only way to get it was to be really nice and give you something that would make you smile(dip)
