I will be going back to Africa real soon. For 10,000 I can fly round trip. Shoot a Kudu,Gemsbok,Impala,Zebra,Blesbok and Pumba. 7days all inclusive dream trip of a lifetime. Get my point. Simple mathmatics. Oh and that's shipping my trophies back too.
    Wanna go?

Sounds boring. For $10k I can go to Mexico and kill two trophy deer. While I'm there I could be shot at, carjacked or killed. Now that's the trip of a lifetime. No reason to do the math

I book for Kwalta,Jaco Strauss. This is a group rate not a single. Lookem up.I can shoot a cape buff, leopard or sable for 10,000. Why would I pay that to shoot a tick infested deer?

It's not the landowner's fault, they are merely saying "OK" when someone with more money says "here"
EXACTLY - it isn't the landowner, it is the MANY folks out there that have the money to and ARE willing to spend it

                  Haha, thats funny.

Agree with many that this publication has become more of a catalog than a magazine.

However if you are in the market for a breeder buck or a 3000lb protein feeder this may be for you, cause there's about 1,603 ads for each in the "journal".

Its not the lamdowners that bother me. Its the lease brokers that lease the land and then sub-lease it at a good profit. Yes its capitalism, no, I'm not a socialist. I'm just PO'd at one broker in particular and am painting with a wide brush.
As far as TTHA goes, well, not my cup of tea.

I was only pointing out that the TBH majority doesnt always represent the millions of deer hunters in the state.
For the record Texas does not have millions of deer hunters......not even a million. TPWD estimates it at 650,000 for 2010.

For archery hunters they estimate it at 180,000 for 2010.

Its still far from TBH having a majority....but it does represent a good portion of the archery world in TX. And who cares what rifle hunters think anyway and TTHA still sux...

I can see both sides of the issue. I own a small farm with a 7 acre tank in east Bell County. It's getting to be more and more popular for duck hunting in that area. Been offered several times to lease it for hunting, but won't do it. I enjoy going, taking friends, and they have free reign if I can't make it.

By the same token, I go deer hunting for free in Eola at another buddy's place. After his mom died he kept the land and house and it's available whenever someone from our crew can put a trip together. Been blessed with good friends and I try to be one myself.

Some things are more enjoyable if dollars are left out of it....

I do know this, greed is unhealthy. Start worshiping dollars and it's a road to unhappiness.
