Eating whiting? (the fish)...any good?

Whiting is dang good eating. Now is a good time to hit them with dead shrimp using a small hook in the surf. I usually just fry them up.

MAN ,, that is one of the best eating fish in the surf.... Ultralight tack , little hook, and a tiny piece of dead shrimp.... You can fill a cooler fast with those tasty treats...
Im thinking about heading down to the surf Saturday to catch me a cooler fool , now that you made me think about them...

I only eat them fresh.

I like them because they're easy to catch. The surf doesn't have to be nice to catch them. They usually hang in the first gut.
