I just love how this AlphaMax32 shoots. And it is quiet. So quiet that I notice a slight "buzz" from the string when I shoot. If I can kill that buzz, it might be a stealth killer. I noticed that when AM32's were sold and fresh out of the box, Hoyt sold them with a single silencer (looked like a SIMS) below the string suppressor. Because I bought mine used, it didn't have one on the string. I have put new strings on the bow and want to install a string silencer or two. What have you guys found is the most bang for the buck?

Anything you put on your string is going to rob you of a little speed. Which one is more important to you?
I've heard several using Limbsaver string leaches with good success but my string stops (which I think you are referring to above as a suppressor) have always killed any buzz without robbing speed. Is your stop touching your string at idle?

I own two Hoyt Alpha Max 35 and one of the first things I did was replace the stock piece of junk string suppressor that Hoyt puts on their bows. There are several guys over on AT that make and sell these plus Hoyt finally got the message and upgraded the stock string suppressors on the 2011 bows. With a good string suppressor I do not think it is necessary but if you want to put something on the string to get rid of buzz, I would recommend the no-gloves like Strothers puts on their strings. I gained 5 fps with one bow and 8 fps with the other using no-gloves. The no-glove acts as a string silencer and if you have access to a chronograph you can play with location on the string to achieve the best results for speed and silence.
