    Question for Monster shooters?

How many of you have slapped your forearm with your string when you first started shooting your bow, I shot with a slightly cocked arm with my Hoyt, but I can't do that with the Monster without leaving some welps...do I just need to change my form completely...cause this junk HURTS!

It is just the bow letting you know you are too stretched out or you need to work on your form a little.

Would a half inch in the cam make that big of a difference, I put in a 29.5" module cause that's what I've always shot, guess it couldn't hurt since I need to get my peep sight moved up some anyways next time I go out to Bow Zone.

Get a DL arrow and measure the DL.
Ones I've seen have been about 3/4 inch long.
        Hoyts have been very close.

Rocky is right the Monsters do draw long, I think that where they got some of there speed from. Mine was fast but it felt longer than my Destroyer.

Never had that problem on mine. Sounds like you're shooting an overdraw without meaning to...

So you're saying I could be shooting a DL that's actually longer than what my Hoyt was?

Hmm....I'll have to get it checked out soon, then.

It sounds to me like it is long and like stated before they do tend to draw longer than the wheel says. Having your DL to long will effect your shooting accuracy as well. I would do like Rocky said and put a DL arrow on it and see exactly what she is pulling and if you still have your Hoyt check it and compare.

Don't have a DL arrow, I might just get my wife to make a mark on one of my old arrows and see if it lines up with the Monster.

Justin, too little, too late, got a nice welp on my arm now, and still don't have a good paper tune cause the wind was whipping all around today.

Most Hoyt bows that I've measured were very close to what they were supposed to be, within 1/4 inch (AMO, measured with DL arrow, true draw)
Most Mathews bows measure 1/2 inch long, so do most Destroyers and Invasions.
The Monsters have measured 3/4+ inches longer than cam setting.
Not a problem, as long as set DL wherever it needs to be to get the correct DL.
I argued with guys at Bowtech about this and their answer was that "on a draw-board they measure correctly, but when hand-drawn, they do pull about 1/2 inch long, so set the DL 1/2 inch short"
BS. a draw-board doesn't shoot my bow, and if I calculate the speed that I'll get at my DL, using the IBO rating of the bow, I don't want to take anothe 5fps from it by having to set DL 1/2 inch shorter.
Pet peeve of mine, sorry for the rant.

Take an arrow, and measure 27 3/4 inches from bottom of nock groove, now mark shelf directly above pivot point of grip, draw bow and see how far behind pivot point mark the arrow mark is.

There's about an inch difference between my Hoyt and my Monster. Looks like I'll be making a trip out to Bow Zone or West Houston soon...thanks rocky.
