I just saw this thread (Ifollowed the previous one). I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy. Please, do not ever think she gave up. Johnna telling Steve she was ready to go home was just Jesus telling her He was ready for her. Her mansion was built, the gold paved road was laid up to it's door and the jewels for her crown were just finished being polished while the angels sang and prepared the journey to her Loving, Eternal Home.
It is never easy to let go of a loved one. Ever. For Steve and Austin to tell her it was ok to Go Home, was the hardest and most loving thing they could have said and done for her. And it is very hard for someone else to hear that.
I will pray for each and everyone of you. For peace and comfort.

Thanks Deb. I actually got a message from someone that gave me a whole new light on the subject. I needed to hear what he had to say and it opened my eyes.
"Mac ,I do believe that when one is ready to let go in situations like this it may not be of hopelessness ,but rather an accepting that the suffering will stop, and a strong belief that God almighty is there with them...their letting go is the ultimate act of faith."
Thank you for your kind words. Now I know why she could let go so easily and what she had to look forward to when she arrived!
Thank you!

Memorial Service
Thanks everyone!
The visitation was amazing!
I know that's a weird word to describe a memorial service but it started at 4:00pm and there was a STEADY solid line of people stretched from Johnna all the way out of the funeral home's front doors until 8:30. She was loved by so many people. The long talks with Addy carried on thru the day and helped me and her a lot. There were some tuff times of course but for the most part, we were all smiles.
Addy broke everyone's hearts when she gave Nanna her security blanky!
My daughter goes NOWHERE without her blanky. It was a tear jerker on a very serious level. Then the funeral director was talking to a family member out in the hallway and Addy told them,
"Excuse me..."
Director: "Yes Ma'am, what can I do for you little lady?"
Addy: "Could you please be quiet, my Nanna is sleeping!"
We all couldn't help but erupt in laughter.
We had to get my sis-in-law to come pick Addy up after a while.
When she picked her up, she gave Nanna a last kiss goodbye and told her, "I love you Nanna, see you later alligator." and ripped our hearts out one more time.
Not sure what tomorrow brings at the graveside service.
It won't be open casket. And we told Addy that we put her in the "box" to ship her to heavenit was cute enough to settle her mind.
