They don't play with speeding in a work zone here in SC........Every workzone has a big sign at the beginning, I wish I had pic, but the penalty for speeding in a workzone is $200 and 30 days in jail. I've seen a number of people getting cuffed and put into the back of a patrol car.........

Yes, about revenue, but also about safety. Yes, they only sell the safety part, but the fact is that you have a handful of chronic offenders. If you ticket those people they will (hopefully) stop doing it. The effectiveness of a police car is very short lived. Example, (be honest now) how many times have you hit the brakes when you see a police car on the side of the road, only to punch the gas again once you are past it? That's precisely how effective that is. About a couple hundred yards. A double fined speeding ticket, now that will probably last longer than a couple hundred yards. I agree it is also about the money, but don't have a problem with catching people breaking the law. Not sure why anyone else does either. You know you all have figured out your best ways to avoid getting caught when you break the law (including myself) (as stated above, radar detectors, etc...) so why do we all get worked up when the people charged with enforcing the laws figure out new ways to catch violators? I'm assuming everyone who doesn't agree with it is probably guilty of violations themselves, whether they've been caught or not. Personally, I try (notice I said "try" ) to always drive the speed limit and obey traffic laws, which means I could care less how they catch violators since I am not one of them. Whether it be safety based or revenue based, doesn't matter to me cause I'm not in their target group. I guess it is just a personal choice for me, but I believe ALL laws should be adhered to.

I do not agree with it.
^^^ This. They put empty cop cars on 1604 in SA for a while, it will definatly make you slow down when you see them. Hiding in construction worker uniforms is for nothing but making money

Pure and utter HOGWASH sir. There is no such thing as a non-offender. Everyone has been guilty of something at one time or another and will again at some point. I make it a point to drive 5mph over the speed limit anytime I hit the road, except in a school zone of course. Am I a nasty bad offender and deserve a fine? By some peoples definition probably, but there are way larger fish to fry. Trickeration and games are not part of the enforcement that I want my taxes to pay for.

Having surveyed on the side of highways I always slow down for the construction guys. Same with neighborhoods, I used to drive like a madman on residential streets when I was younger and now I'm the guy stopping people in the street when they're going too fast.
