bet it's a money maker for them...you know they send out false tickets...and you know some people pay them.....

all they did with the cameras is take a dangerous, congested intersection and make it more dangerous and more congested than it ever was, even before the toll road went in....

ouch....nope....heard about some horse getting plowed I think it was wednesday and then some fatality just before the ben white exit on mopac south....looked like the oh so common Texas exit from the far right lane to take a left exit right there.....

I just stick to the neighborhoods till I get to merrilltown and mopac...then it's every man for himself till 360....

They've been working all over Austin, I think their quota went up or something....
                Has to be the economy.

If they wanted them to slow down in work zones.. Put a police car in plain view.
Hiding in a costume is NOT preventing a worker from getting killed.
The reason is for revenue..not safety.
I do not agree with it.

I was kind of wondering that myself....especially since they pop you double because there are workers there.....wonder if someone would fight the construction workers bit with the popo faking.....

This 100%. Effect would be the same, revenue would not.

Very well stated . They use the word safety to generate revenue and there are to many people that agree with them I am with you , put a police car in plain site , even if its empty and it will make the speeders slow down , but it wont make them any money

It is an effective strategy. Word will spread and people will slow down through construction zones in the area with or without a police car present.

Having a police car present definitely slows traffic ...while it's there. Speeds go right back up when it's gone.

If that were true and all it takes.. Police could just spread rumors then and then there would never be a speeder anywhere.

It's about revenue. Not safety. Don't drink the kool-aid.
