I let one walk last year that looked just like him. Did ya'll capture him and put a tag in his ear?

Very nice buck love the drops.

            so here's the story...

100% native deer, with absolutely no introduced genetics. He was caught when the ranch was still low fence, and put into a MLD pen when he was 4 or 5. mcmullen county. as far as him being "tame", apparently he didn't get the memo... even in a 10 acre DMP pen, it's hard to watch him.

The point is.... just because you see a deer with ear tags doesn't mean he's "hand fed. un natural, steroid pumped, etc, etc".

            a couple points...

this deer will never (most likely) be shot.
he's going to live as long as he can humping as many does as possible.

we should all be so lucky

                  Why was he tranquilized?
Does the rancher give him antibiotics and worm him?
If he's in only 10 acres, obviously he's getting all the feed he will eat, year-round.

I guess if it was the last day of deer season and my family was starving I would take this animal. I'd have to take his antlers and use them to make door nobs for my cabinets!!! On second thought, I'd would have probably been tagged out on 2 trophy spikes!!!

wish we still had sigs!!!! out of all the high fence breeder pen fights on the GS, this sums up my feelings better than any of the others

I might have to change "when" to "if" though....lol

I am thinking that is a lot of bone! with kickstands too! When he does eventually expire, I see the base for a coffee table! or the back of a chair out of that rack.

nice deer. I would actually like him better if he didn't have those oars hanging down. I know it's weird but I just like that look better.....But I'ld still choot em in heart beat.

they aren't in the pens year around. They have to be darted to be placed back into the DMP pens.

DMP pens aren't like the typical breeding pens. there are specific dates the deer can be in the pens,
