    New Routine

Signed up last night and will start tonight.. There is a Gym right around the corner from the house, and after my wife and I discussed it, we are going to start a New Routine. Looking at working out at least 5 nights a week.
Gotta loose some of the extra weight I have been carrying around all winter and get in shape.
Anyone else starting a New Routine? I have never been one to "Pay" to use a gym, but seeing how the weather here is ALWAYS changing, it makes sense. There are a lot of times when you really cannot complete a workout outside due to rain, but now I have no excuse...
Not really looking for the "Pain" that I am sure will be there tomorrow, but I am actually EXCITED about it....
May look at getting into one of those Weight Lose Challenges, just as a litte Extra Push and Motivator...
    Who else is doing this???

I need to, just hard to get motivated. Stick with it, it'll defimitely pay off in the end.

Started a couple weeks ago. Don't have a gym membership but I'm trying to go run/walk a few times and week and watching what I eat.

I started walking about 5 +miles every night, but the Kansas Weather has gone from mid 70s to Mid 80s down to highs in the 50s and rainy. Makes it REAL Difficult to walk the neighborhood when it is cold and rainy out.
With the gym close by, there is no excuses for NOT doing it now...

I finally started taking advantage of the fitness center here at work a couple of weeks ago. I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs. I need to get back to 200 lbs. So I've been doing 20 minutes on the treadmill every morning and then 20 minutes on the weights. I feel better already although I haven't noticed any weight loss yet. It will happen as long as I keep doing my part.

Get your heartrate up and keep it there while you workout. My biggest change will be Lots of Water and really cutting back on portions and what I eat..

Good luck to you, hope you're better at it than me. I called that $30 a month my fat tax after about a month.

Completed my first of many tonight and I know I will be Very Sore tomorrow... It is going to be well worth it. 30 minutes of Strong Cardio and then an hour of weights.
Planning on 5 days a week with 2 days to rest. My wife really seemed to have enjoyed it as well.
Looks like the New Routine is going to be Exactly What I Need....

Hardest part was cutting sodas but now I'm not really missing them. Beer is s till my weakness but with a good routine it keeps me in what I like to think is tip top for me. Good luck !!

80% of the battle is nutrition....clean up your diet and continue with the new lifestyle. Make it a habit and dont ever take a day off. Once u take a day off, it makes it alot easier to take 2 days off and it only gets worse.

Your diet is the biggest part. be more active and cut the bad foods/drinks and the weight will fall off. PM me if you have any ?s

I just got back into my routine heavily last week but my goals are slightly different.Looking to drop below 9-10Y% BF and get down to 6 like I was at

Man it feels pretty good this morning. Up and at it early. Hit the gym at 5 this morning for a strength workout and will work on Cardio this evening.
Really have worked on the diet portion of this new routine. I don't have to worry about Sodas because I did not drink many of those to start. A lot more water now, and making myself eat 3 meals a day is a change. In the past I was not much for the 3 meals a day, but I have made myself change that. My wife and I also have changed our dinner routine to include a lot more healthier foods; fresh veggies, more fish, and NO DESSERTS... (that is the hardest part for both of us). Mid-day snacks have been limited to either an apple or a half cup of nuts.. I am just ready to loose the extra weight and get into better shape.
I realized this past year I needed to do something. Just walking to the Bow Stand in the mornings was getting to be a challenge; so that has brought me to WANT this change in my life.
I have a "Before" picture my wife took yesterday morning and that is my motivation. I see it and I do NOT like what I see. There will be a change, one for the better.. If I feel like slacking, I will see the pic and that will motivate me to NOT SLACK....

I've still got to do something about the diet. With 3 kids always on the go we have some kind of practice, game, playday, etc. pretty much every day. sitting down to a healthy meal isn't always easy. I've got the 45 minutes in the gym down pat every morning monday-friday. 20 cardio and 25 weights. Then its a shower and a walk across campus to my office where I eat a light breakfast of boiled eggs and fresh fruit. Lunch is usually a couple sandwiches, ( I HAVE TO QUIT BREAD!), a cup of yogurt, and 2 pieces of fruit. Then dinner could be anything thats quick, although its quick home stuff not fast food. ie, hamburger helper or crap like that. so although I am making great progress I still have a ways to go.
Keep up the good work Bowanta. Lets keep this going.
BTW, the main reason I started is I'll be turning 50 in August, I have a 6 YO daughter. I really want to be around to watch her experience the beauty of life!

Tx I fully understand what you mean. My job keeps me traveling A LOT and it is not always easy to find something on the road that is healthy. I do NOT eat Fast Food, so that really starts to limit the choices.
Personally I think you could still do the bread, just do a Whole Wheat; and maybe limit the amounts you eat. I limit myself to only two slices a day.
I do like you choice for Breakfast. I will need to try that one myself. Boil up a bunch of eggs that way they are ready every morning.
I was told the other day that it takes you body 14 days to create a routine. I don;t agree. I think if you set your mind to it, you can make it a routine from Day 1. I know I have..
