BIL looking for a big old barn to have wedding in

My BIL is getting married in the next year or so and is looking for a big open barn to have the wedding and reception in. Anyone out there on the green screen have one they would be willing to rent out for a weekend? Looking for something within an hour or so from Houston. Of course the perfect place would have some sort or beautiful scenery surrounding the barn.

He and his bride to be have been looking around and I suggested getting the word out through some of the social networking channels.

I would have thought this would be an easy thing to find too but they aren't jumping in the boat.

Heres another place around Montgomery. My mom is getting married there the end of this month. We are doing all the cooking ourselves, so not doing the whole catered thing. Basically they just rented the place and bring all there own food, drinks, DJ etc..

Quite a few places in the Round Top area with either barns or old "halls". Search around on www.roundtop.org the chamber website and see what you can find or give them a call and they can direct you.

check out Texas Old Town in Kyle. it is a great place and very rustic.

Dubina Hall is great....its not really a barn but its a very old dance hall in a country setting. Its just north of Weimer.

We rent it out for Easter every year. Great place.

There is a place in Fredericksburg that is really cool. I can't remember what it's called, but it is south of town on the east side of the road.

The Brenham area has several places like this to choose from. My wife and I found a really nice B&B w/ said barn outside of Round Top but it was a little out of our price range. We ended up getting married at the Baptist Church in Independence and couldn't have been happier. I know you said he was looking for a barn but this place has a ton of character (you can still see Sam Houston's name carved into one of the pews) and its within reasonable driving distance from Houston. Best of luck in the search I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding something that fits the bill.
