    Lost title ??

I threw the title to my truck away on accident. Is it as simple as filing for a lost title? I had just received it from the loan company.

You can do it over the internet or or go to the office off I-10 inside 610. Internet takes a little time but is easy. Just went through this a couple of months ago.

You will have to get the loan company to sign a release of lien document.

Finance co. probably released the lien before they sent him they title, I would think . I'm assuming it's paid off , ?

Don't forget this, PLEASE. Without the original title and signed release, you need a separate lein release document from the old leinholder for the certified copy (the replacement you'll get) to be negotiable. After you secure the lein release document from your old leinholder, you might as well ask the State to remove the leinholder when the certified copy is reissued. With their name removed from the reissued title, you won't need a separate lein release form anymore. I'm just not sure if they can do that on a certified copy, so ask.

Doesn't matter that they released it. Go to the bank and get a release of lien on their letterhead. Take that, your drivers liscense and $5.35 up there. They should have the actual app for you there. Need the vin and plate number. They print you a new one. Just did it for my truck and hot rod both

Go online at TxDOT and see what you need to take with you Scott. It has been a while but I remember having an affidavit with me when I had to get one a couple years back. Their new office is at I-10 and Washington and they move you through a lot faster now.
