We used to wear em out willow creek back in the day
Quackerbox, When you said Willow Creek are you talking about Willow Creek California? If so, I know that area pretty well since I grew up in Trinity County. Never frog gigged in Willow Creek but I did in Weaverville and the Golf course ponds and Mill ponds were great. Heck if you spent much time there we probably know some of the same people.

Lots of people road hunt in CA because you need to cover a lot of ground to find game. In CA you used to be able to drive the back(logging) roads for weeks without hitting the same places but it's lot different now with a lot of the back roads locked up.
