Has anyone ran a trolling motor with a generator?

Im tired of buying and charging batteries. I figured I could use some sort of converter and just run it off the genny. Anyone ever done this? How?

One it will be a lot louder then just using the battery. Two it will be very hard. Depending on the size of the trolling motor is the continuous current needed to operate the trolling motor. My little EU2000I Honda generator I think is only good for 13 I am sure that this will not be enough to run a trolling motor.

Have while bowfishing at night. I have a big generator that has a place to hook a battery to charge it. It worked real well. Sometimes we hunted all night and never had a problem.

do a search. Someone was just talking about this yesterday. I think it was called bowfish boat building questions....or something like that. I think it said you would need two converters that run about 180 a piece!

He has to use the generator for the bowfishing lights anyway.....

I saw something like Lean Machine said as well but I can't find it...

I did not think about bowfishing but if thats what your doing then the noise would not be a big thing. Most I know that bowfish have air motors anyway so they already wear ear plugs.

Ok read through the posts on the other thread and looks like txsuperdad has it down. I just need to know what converter, how big, and where to purchase.
