Ok..... i am a disciple! Been to two live events, bought over 10 copies of his book(s) to help family & friends, spent a week with him and other business owners in Cancun, we analyze folks financial lives when asked for help, we believe in paying it forward, and would consider my 4 years of debt free (except new home construction) one of the BEST moves in my entire LIFE!
1.) Dave paid off all his creditors years ago. Literally called them to make sure he paid them off after filing bankruptcy decades ago. He talks about it in detail on the radio, in books and when we were in Cancun. It was religion that made him pay everyone, every dime!
2.) The house is ALL cash. He announced to the world that his was building a DREAM home about 2 years ago that his ancestors could not have imagined.
3.) The huge office building in Brentwood, Tennessee is worth millions.......paid with cash after leasing the place for over 10 years.
4.) He has "paid it forward" more times than most of us will even have a opportunity to do in this lifetime.
5.) I pray he and his family enjoy every second in that new home! His vision is ours....."live like no one else now, so you can live like no one else later!" (give up short term gain for long term gain)
6.) We have NEVER taken the class just listened to the radio and bought a $13 book. Since being debt free we do whatever it takes to keep the "ole edge" on the financial blade. God.....it is a BLAST knowing the simple things that folks whine about just don't matter when you actually have NO DEBT!!!!

From a small business perspective we are very tight on the Dave Ramsey concepts but we did borrow some money to build the new home.....after DR told us with a straight face to wait 4 years and build the house cash. The wife balked on the long flight home........thus the ONLY "partial" debt in our lives is this project:
