The otterbox I have dropped mine on concrete several times , stepped on it in the parking lot , exposed it to rain and salt air at the coast with no damage to the phone.
It appears the element case does not protect it from the elements!!!And costs 3x as much.

I haven't used this on an Iphone 4 but I do currently have it on my Iphone 3GS and I think it protects just as good as an otterbox but without the bulkiness.

I have the Ballistic case and it is a rock.

I have drop my Iphone in this thing 25' out of my ladder stand, dropped it from lap to the ground while climbing out of my truck. It fell from my pocket while riding a 4 wheeler up a rocky cliff at the ranch. I went back 2 hours later and picked it off of the ground without a scratch to the case.

It is big and bulky but once you get used to it, it is not so bad.

I would not have any other case for an iPhone.

Get the Otterbox Commuter. Good solid protection but slim design. It's what I'm using now.

It is hard to beat th Otterbox. I have dropped mine several times with no damage. They make several different designs now so do not rule out based off the original heavy duty design.

They have small otter box's too. They have alot of girly covers. I had an otter box (i'm very hard on my phones) & it was the big one and I thought it was to bulky, so I switched to something smaller. About the 3rd time I dropped it, the glass shattered. I just got an iPhone 4 and I noticed online otterbox has alot of choices. Incipio have some good ones too. That would be my 2nd choice.

I have a speck case. I haven't had any problems with it. I liked my otter on i3 but thought it was too bulky.

If I ever drop mine on the face I'm screwed though!
