I changed to Easton Axis arrows this year and have had heck making my own lighted nocks for them because they are so thin. I broke down and bought 3 of the Burt Coyote Lumenoks for the Axis Arrows. I was warned that they were tight fitting!! That is an understatement.
I took the first one out and looked it over. Looks a little fragile to me. cleaned the end of all 3 arrows and slipped one in half way. Wasn't going any more without considerable force. I took it out, hit it lightly with some sand paper and tried again. It went in with some force applied and lit up. Said to myself..."self, that is pretty neat."
Took the other two out and had the same thing happen. To tight to seat all the way. Little sanding(very little) and they went in. One came on easily, the others took a little tinkering. They are all now in and take some effort to seat which is what activates them.
Took them out back and shot the three 12 times. That is 4 chances for each to do its thing. I have one that will light every time. Two that light up when they impact the target(completely seats on impact)
I did a post shoot examination and have come to the conclusion that these are a generic nock to fit the slim arrows and not any one in particular. Fitting is definately required and a little to much either way and they wont work. To tight, won't seat, to loose and the string will seat them and then pull them back enough as it leaves to turn them off.
I can probably do some detailed fitting(which is required on the home made ones as well) and make these work but at $9 each, I shouldn't have to be doing that.
Overall....they suck.
