Has anyone ever tried to weld to metal drums together and make a double barrel winch up feeder. I'm tossing around the idea so if you have let's have some info and does it work good. Really would like to find a 85 gallon drum!

Just remember how much weight you'll be winching up!!!
5.5 lbs of whole corn for every gallon of feeder. 85 gallon drum times 5.5 lbs for corn is right at 470 lbs just in corn add another 75-80 lbs (guess) for the barrel, funnel, and timer. You're looking at 550 lbs for one 85 gallon barrel.
If you want to stack those,,,,, 1,100+ lbs to winch up....

If you are going to build a feeder you might want to consider building something like this...I spent some time looking at one at the rodeo and this is a great idea!

I'd just buy a big feeder or run two feeders.
I like all my hunting areas to have around 1k pounds of feed so I either have a 1k pound feeder or I just put to 85 gal next to each other. throw short bursts out of each that way one goes down i have another.
my next feeders will be krivomans. I have three feeders 1k+ and I like not having to fill them but every few months.

For the price of 1 85 gallon barrel, you could buy 2 feeder controls. Just set up 2 feeders, one feeding am the other pm.
And like mentioned above the load points and metal material size required to winch up 1000lbs+ would not only cost more than a bought feeder, but above average welding skill would be highly recommended..........all that and you still have a feeder so tall you still need a ladder to fill it up.
