This program in Discovery about the Army SF selection course and they've got them on the O course in protective helmets? Tell me they use those as an added hindrance and not as a protective measure.

The guys at Ft Bragg wore helmets and or helmet liners everywhere in 1970. Back then it wasn't unusual to get a "friendly" slap every now and then.
Have to admit I'm glad I wasn't training with them. -
back in '97 when i went to selection we didn't use helmets on the "nasty nick" but times change and with the chance of injury on the o course they have started making selection candidates wear them.Comment

Watched that show last night.. 2 weeks of hell..
those are a special breed of people right there...
see that they now extended selection to 3 weeks ...lucky guys that didn't get picked and get to go through it all again with an added week..Comment
