My 07 3500 has 122k miles on it and the dpf is plugged up, where have you taken your truck to get a dpf delete kit and controller installed on it and how much, what controller, could you do it yourself and how do you like your delete kit and the store/shop that sold it to you?? Am in Corpus San Antonio area and need to haul the truck in somewhere as it is in limp mode right now. I thought about buying a delete pipe and controller and installed it myself since the store in san antonio wont pull it off but wants me to do it here at the ranch and then bring it up and sign a release of liab to install it for off road/race use only. gees the dpf is $2200 plus install and towing and no guarantee it will fix it if i leave it stock, its time to pull the trigger and get a controller, delete pipe and move on, I just removed and cleaned the ccv and egr valve but the truck still wont go into regen and reads 100 full see dealership, aint going to do that due to the cost, egr valve was $600 plus install, dpf was $2200 plus install, putting on Dodge Software machine to try to force regen is $130 plus towing it up and back 200 miles if that did not fix it, actually prob has a sensor out but with 112k miles on it and its almost started my ranch on fire 2 different times i want to convert to egr delte kit, controller and different exhaust. Whats your take on how to get started?? I wanted to order all of this in but no shop here in my town will remove the dpf and install the pipe alas. Has anybody removed there own dpf and installed the dpf delete pipe?? How hard is it to do in a dirt driveway??? It looks like it might need to be heated up and unbolted and i can not run torch if its stuck?? Went down to ranch to take pictures and load up feed and some extra stuff i have left over and its went into limp mode on me 4 miles out of driveway.....

Block the EGR at your own risk...The 6.7 cummins has some drive pressure issues when running higher HP tunes with the EGR blocked...The EGR acts like a wastegate in a way to open and relieve some of the pressure in the exhaust when running bigger tunes..If you only plan on running stock tune but just the DPF delete then blocking the EGR would be fine..If I recall you can run stock tune but with DPF delete on the Smarty..I would get the smarty jr and download the Dpf delete tunes and then just unplug the EGR..That way it can blow open if the pressure comes up to high..Usually when boost goes over 25-30psi it will force it open..

Well, tryed to find plain vanilla alum steel 5 inch turbo back complete delete kit to go with the Smarty ME i have decided to use. Now if i can just find one in stock to order and pick up in san antonio some wherelol Thanks for the info, the guy down here in my town tryed to charge me $1800 for a 4 inch exhaust and a xmt programer, not a good deal for sure even installed and of course did not have it in stock but wanted me to pay before ordering it. I want the total exhaust system so i can remove the dpf, the cat and the muffler and replace it all with 5 inch alum steel all the way back and then plug in the Smarty ME and do the egr valve block off and tie off the egr valve motor, seems to be a simple job, am going to try Rolling smoke website for the combo kit at $900 for the exhaust and Smarty ME 67 pod unit and see what happens if none in stock in San Antonio, I cant wait to get the truck going like my old 02 5.9 cummins with the edge big exhaust, intake and air box. It is kinda hard sizing up all of the different options out there but still beats the dealer trying to sell me a egr valve for $600 plus the dpf for $2200 plus flashing it on the Dodge scanner and labor on the egr valve and dpf, omg off with this junk as soon as possible!!!

When In need of De-Soot
When in limp mode, I have unbolted the DPFE to clean out , Almost impossible and very messy job, to just drive them in from the back . It's worked . You could actually remove it all ,exhaust components and sensors to wash out. It's not hard at all just takes a little time. Then your Dealer could just look it over and run the regeneration with the computer on board and run the truck . And install new software to update the pcm. Just a thought .

You can buy a complete kit. Exhaust and programmer that will let you delete the dpf code free.
H&S and Smarty both make programmers that will do it and the exhaust is cheap.
You can even get transmission programming from H&S for an additional fee.
If you want to do a lot of research go to http://cumminsforum.com . There is tons of info there.
