I have a female that just turned a year last month. Great dog, very smart and great with the family. I can't wait to hunt her next year. Here is a bad picture with her ears flopped back (not sure why she does that??)

Here! Have a female just a little over 2yrs old. She was given to us about a year ago as a "started" dog. She retreived all of my doves this past season, but my schedule and lack of quail at the ranch this year has prevented me from working with her on her "real" job. After 15 yrs of owning high strung English Pointers and GSP's, she has been a welcomed addition. Very laid back, but still has alot of drive when needed. Great with kids and somewhat protective of them. Very smart as well. Have thought about putting her on blood trails. The more I learn about the breed and their capabilities, the more I like them. They seem to be the ultimate "versatile" breed. Thats her on the right, minus her "beard" due to an unfortunate grassbur incedent

I have never had one but my hunting buddy's dad has had two of them. They are the best all around hunting dog out there. Waterfowl, Upland game, you name it, they will hunt and retrieve it.
His dad told me that if they are pure and registered, they will have a serial number tattooed on the inside of their ear. Both of his had them and that was pretty cool. I would have one to replace my lab in several years but I don't think my wife can get by the looks of them.

I got Lucy out of Vom Sendero Kennels http://web.me.com/sendero/Sendero_Ja...dero_Home.html She really has been a pleasure to have. I have had some great labs over the past 25 years and she is easliy as good as my best one. Her coat is very tight and has a beard but not heavy coated at all, I am sure some of that has to do with being in the warmer weather of Texas. Here she is sleeping next to me on the floor.
Keep the Draht info coming.
