Anyone ever used alfalfa pellets in a deer feeder (spinner type)?

Something about humidity and swelling. I know they have problems with them in automatic horse feeders and they are dump style. -
I haven't used those but in using Record Rack protien pellets I had to cut off a little of my funnel to allow the pellet/corn mix to spin out and not clog. Works great now and I have a ton of deer in the middle of the night...
