Dropped from blind....Ah, don't need it....

Another one of those weird hunting stories to add to the memories.

    - Yesterday afternoon, I slipped into my stand for the evening hunt. I usually carry my cell with me for emergency calls or for mid hunt boredom. I had about an hour before dark and suddenly I hear a smack on the ground right under the stand. After searching the sticks and brush from up above I finally see that it was my phone that had fallen out of my pocket. My ringer was off and I knew were it was, so there was no way I was going to get down and risk ruining a hunt, just to get my phone. So I just left it for when I got down. Darkness came and I got down grabbed my phone and headed for the truck..... When I was driving home I called the Pops to talk about the hunt and kept feeling something crawling on my neck... Just figured I brought back a bug or two from the woods, no big deal. I got home and still was on the phone, so I sat on the porch to finished up the talk with dad. As I stood up to go inside I had something bite the back of my neck and there were several ants on my arm... Thinking I picked them up off the porch, I brushed them off, cussed them some and then went on in the house. I set my phone down and went to grab a beer, came back into the living room and there were ANTS by the dozens coming out of my phone....... What the he)) I thought to myself as I went into the kitchen to investigate this issue. When I took my the back of my phone off, I kid you not, like 500 ants came hauling out from inside my phone. I killed ants for 30 mins. they just kept coming out.... I have no idea how many were in there but I had been on the phone for 20-30 min. with atleast 500 ****** off fire ants INSIDE my phone....HA, that was the craziest thing ever.... I was even killing ants when we went to the bar lastnight. Next time, I think I will get down and get the phone.......No deer hit the ground, but I did tag in several hundred trophy ants..........How was ya'lls hunt?

At least they didn't crawl into your ear.

Don't know why, but fire ants are attracted to electricity. They used to get in the pressure switch of the well that supplied our water. If we had no water, that meant it was time to go clear the fire ants out of the electrical box.
