    Tomorrow Should Be Good!

Cold front coming in tonight, rut starting to peak, moon straight up early in the morning...
Man! Gotta be in a tree in East Texas.
It's gonna be like Christmas morning trying to sleep tonight.

I moved my stand to a hot spot I found on Tuesday. There are 5 active scrapes within a 30 yard radius and 2 sign-post rubs bigger than any I've seen on this place. My 5 year old daughter will be with me, but I still think I can pull it off if big boy shows.

Hopefully, I'll have something to post on the reports forum.
Good luck to everyone going out in the morning!

Well, bowhunting with a 5 year old w/ you is uh...well...challenging. LOL!
Had a doe come in at 10 yards around 6:45, told my daughter to be still, she didn't. (We're in a 15-ft. two-man ladder stand)
Soon as the doe walked off, a young buck came in w/ his nose to the ground, picked up the doe's trail and went after her.
30 minutes later a big spike comes in at 15 yards, I tell daughter to be still, she doesn't, deer takes off.
She made it all the way to 9:00, then it was time to go home for her.

Yes, I think the morning would have been more successful (from an actual deer hunting standpoint) if I had been by myself, but being with my daughter in the woods on a cold morning in November and seeing the excitement on her face from seeing deer was priceless.

I'll be back up this evening by myself once again.

Skinner - don't give up. My buddy Earl had his 4 year old daughter in the ladder when he busted a doe at 25 yards. She was excited! He ended up putting her on the top step and he sat the bottom step. Put some burlap across in front of you and it will help break up her movement. Both his daughters got the first deer at 4 & 5 using a 12 gauge and buckshot. Used his shoulder for the rest and they aimed and pulled the trigger. That's as good as it gets.

Naw, I'm not giving up. It's too good.
I do have our stand wrapped from the gun rest down, in camo blind material.
Got it all brushed in good, too. Movement is the only problem, so far. The deer were directly downwind of us and didn't bust us 'till she moved.

Well, she's off at a b-day party now and I'm off to the woods.
                        Will check back in after.
