    Anyone missing a kid?

Sittin here at the rodeo and there's this kid wandering around up and down the aisle looking for his parents. Couldn't be more than 3 or 4.

Seriously, who lets their kids run loose at such a big event??

This kid was MAYBE 4. By the third trip down the aisle with a lost look on his face, everyone started to realize he had no clue where he was. A lady went to see about him and took him to a rodeo official person.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

So, you know the entire story of this particular incident? Or are you just making a broad sweeping statement regarding "some" parents in general?

Not trying to pick on you Dave but I grow weary of the parent bashing threads here where broad brush strokes are made regarding parents and their lack of responsibility, common sense etc... Some of these comments, if not most, come from folks who are not parents, don't know any details of the story or who just plain and simply post without thinking about what they're saying and how offensive their comments are.

Parenting is the hardest job I've ever had. Am I good at it? I'm not sure what others would say but I'd give myself a B-. . Reading these threads, and there have been several lately, is disheartening and really causes me to think of how judgemental some folks here can be. It sure doesn't portray the "family" atmosphere that we try to cling to here.

Again, not picking on you Dave! I'm just a little disappointed in the general direction some of these threads have headed.

Well said. Parenting is a gift(blessing)that to many take for granted and some never get to experience. It should never be a burden. To let a child that small out of your sight or grasp at any time much less in Houston??? Unacceptable!!!!

Well, Im hoping he's talking in general about parents who would let their very underaged kid(s) run loose at a loud, crowded event where there is around 38000 people. I would give those parents a solid F.
You would be correct in assuming I don't have kids, but would you let your 3 YO out of your sight at a place like this?

You've missed part of my point. You have no idea who the parents are, where they are or any part of the story behind the child. All you know is the child was apparently lost. Based on that you judge and juried the childs parents to be unfit. Mistakes happen even in parenting. It doesn't mean they're bad parents. Good luck in your future parenting venTures.

jeep...I'm talking in general about parents that don't understand, comprehend or fulfill the responsibility they're taking on when they become parents. And I do believe Jeff was merely commenting on how quick folks are to pass judgement these days.

I used to see it everyday when I worked the street entering people's houses and vehicles...
