    victoria

i hunt in the victoria, we have been on this place two years now and does anybody know what a big big buck is for there???

It depends where at in the area, some places have huge potential and others not so much, on average a good mature big buck should be around the 130 - 140 range but this could vary hugely!

we used to hunt there between Victoria and Refuggio , a big buck for us was 135-140 range . Our neighboring ranch had a 173 killed in 08 . We had a 170 ish hit by a truck
200 yards from our gate but we had never seen him before live or on tc .

I know a low fenced place on the river in Victoria producing 160 - 180 inch deer. Thats on 5000 acres of course and protein.

My gf's dad hunts in SW Victoria county down on the river and they avg 130-140 but are managing for much larger. Neighbors of theirs are averaging 160's.

Our place will produce 130-140 deer. Were starting year three of mgmt and I'd expect some of our 3 year old could be 145+

There is a ranch a couple of miles from me that's in it's 8th year of mgmt that had a mid 60's and numerous 50's deer.
