    Mule, Rhino, or Ranger?

I am going to buy a used machine by Wed. I have been in a Mule and Rhino before and I don't know which one is better really.

I don't like how whinny and noisy a ranger is. Does anyone know if the diesel mule is quieter that the gas one?

You'll love the way a Ranger rides, but hate working on it.

      All have pros and cons.

      Mules are rough and slow.

Rhinos are small and don't have a lot of payload

      Rangers are made by Polaris

that is the biggest cons I could come up with

pretty sure Ranger will win in this thread. I have a buddy who has an older mule. Garranteed tough. We have put it through the ringer. (West Tx cross country for years). It has held up well. I have owned a Ranger for bout 4 yrs now. I would buy another ranger. Can't speak for the Rhino

if you wanna be the king of the mountain go with a TACO! Taco power baby! It sure is nice on them cold wet days to be warm dry and listening to a little Johnny Cash.

Used a Mule for several years. Now I have a Ranger. Huge difference. Ranger is much smoother and quieter. Would buy another one again without hesitation.

              Go with the Ranger.

I have a 89 Ramcharger already on the lease, now I want a UTV to get to areas the charger cant get to. And I want something my 10 year old can enjoy.

I have ridden in all of them and picked the Ranger XP. I would buy another one. My college roommate had a diesel mule and a person would have to wear ear plugs to keep from going deaf.

I have a Rhino and love it for what I use it for, very little working and a lot of playing. I can haul what I need to but I don't use it for farm work if that is what you are seeking.

Mules are slow and heavy, I have a buddy with one and it will haul some gear but is very rough riding with a solid rear axle and it is down a lot of the time, or at least has some issues.

I have been in a Ranger a lot as well, for working 1st and play 2nd, I would go with the Ranger as it has a bigger payload and a bit roomier with the bench seat compared to the Rhino. The Ranger does not ride as smooth as the Rhino, IMO.

For play 1st and work 2nd, I would go with the Rhino, there are lots of aftermarket gear out there for it and you can customize it most any way you like.

                      Hope this helps.

Noise smoise... The ranger is by far the best machine amongst utv's... I have never scared any more deer on my ranger then in a truck... Besides if you have a road feeder on it the DEER will hear it and think it is the dinner wagon...

Man that helps. Its for both work and play...more play. New lease is on the Canadian on OK and we have access to Miles and mile of trail riding (off season of course).
