Pics of our cedar clearing progress

This field was being choked out by 3-6 foot cedars. Already we have the native grasses returning.

This field was just cleared the last few weeks and we havent had any rain on it yet. We are cutting some wide senderos and leaving just enough cedar cover for the deer to hide and feel safe.

We just started work on the edge of this creek.

    Tool of the trade

If you look closely you will see the first quail I have seen on the ranch in six years! Hopefully when we get the cedar under control and the native grasses thrive we will have huntable numbers/

          Nice work, Jeff. Cedars suck.

That looks great! How much do you charge? I have some property in Burnet that needs someone to clear the cedars off it.

I love it! Keep it up. You have several million more acres across the state to cover.

Looks great. Cedar is such an invasive brush. I hate it! It's good for brushing in blinds but I'm happy to be on a ranch that doesn't have a single cedar on it. And if I find one growing, I'll cut down and poison the roots. Sure don't want that stuff getting started.

                        JeffJ,

I would like to talk to you about that bobcat/tree shear set-up. Do you have an email address?

I wish everyone could do that. Your place looks beautiful.
