Working Dog Field Day and Get-Together

With an emphasis on tracking and baying activities, this event is going to be a great opportunity to make new friends, spend some time outdoors with your dog and practice your handling skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. There will be a hog bay arena, blood trailing workshop and competition, trapping demonstration, and more.

I'm trying to figure out how much interest there is in having a snake avoidance trainer at the event. It will be in Menard, TX on April 2nd.

I've talked to a couple of trainers and their fees are generally in the $40-$60 range but they won't travel unless we have enough participation.

Would anybody be willing to travel to Menard to have their dog snake-proofed?

If you're interested in coming out to the event, there will be a meet and greet and cook out Friday and Saturday nights and limited overnight accommodations are available.

Bummer I would love to make it but will be fishing and bowfishing in LA that weekend. If anything changes on my end I'll make the trip.

Is there somewhere I can find more info on this? Times, price, events, housing.

What level does the dog / handler need to be to attend?

WE are very interested in the blood tracking and snake proofing. Will there be camping sites available?

Absolutely! Here's the scoop (or you can PM me directly with questions):

                          Event Info

What level does the dog / handler need to be to attend?
The activities will be geared toward young and inexperienced dogs as well as experienced dogs and handlers that just want a little practice in the off season. Really, you will be given as much or as little guidance as you need. I will try to make the competitive line as challenging as possible.

Will there be camping sites available?
How large is your camper or trailer?

Court, just looked at your link. Is this just a lacy event or are all dogs welcome?

All breeds, crossbreeds, curs, half-breeds, hybrids, mixed breeds, mongrels, and just plain ole mutts are welcome...but especially Bavarian mountain hounds
