    Spring has Sprung

At least down in my neck of the woods it has. The plum trees are blooming nicely and I saw my first red bud tree in full bloom near my house this morning amongst other things. With no freezes anytime soon, this week things will explode with new growth. I think I'm gong to go drown a few minnows this afternoon.

Anyone else seeing any signs of Spring?

yes, Eastern New Mexico blew in on a SW wind of about 50 MPH yesterday. It was dirty nasty up here on the caprock yesterday, a sure sign of Spring!

But I'm not ruling out a Spring snow storm just yet.......

You're not that far from me. Gotta love it when that pine pollen puts a nice coat of yellow on the truck. Probably in about 2 weeks or so it will start to hit good.

Bluebonnets and Indian Paint Brushes will start popping up in a week or so down here.

Okay, I have started my garden and some of the old timers here at work have been telling me that the Farmers Almanac says we will have porential for major snow fall in mid March.

Johnny, you seem to have good insight on this topic.

                What say you???

I love this time of year. My wife hates it because she knows I will be hitting the Garden centers for new plants and flowers. We lost quite a bit this year due to the extreme cold. So I have my work cut out just getting rid of the dead stuff. We she start a yard and garden thread with before and after yard shots.

Went to the ranch for a work weekend (after being at the rodeo for a month)...trimmed the grapes just in time...the buds were already starting to swell...a couple of bluebonnets already started blooming...one out of three peach trees blooming...plums, pears, oranges, etc. haven't started yet but buds are swelling...The passenger seat in my truck looks like it is woven out of dog hair...the blue heeler leaves a cloud of hair every time she shakes...

mesquites still haven't budded so we could still have a late freeze...
