    Question for the math braintrust...

    If you have 100 acres in a rectangle shape and your land is 300 yards wide, how many yards long is it?

      I think around 1600 yards but I'm not 100% sure.

        one acre is 43560 square feet.

        therefore with 100 acre, you have 4356000 square feet.

        now if your property is 300 yards wide, tht gives you 900 feet.

        do the math, leaves you with your property being 4840 feet long.

        4840 ft x 900 ft = 4356000 sq ft

        tht puts you at about 1613.3 yards long.

          lxw=area

          lx300 yds=484000 sq yds

          484000/ 300= 1613 yds

            484,000 sq yd in 100 acres
            divided by 300 = 1613.3 yrds.

                Take the angle of the dangle and divide by the square root of the swing of the ding=EXACTLY 1613.3yds. Back to work now.

                  I'm surprised I remembered how to figeure it out! I was always the one who said I would never use this stuff! who says that 8th grade geometry and algebra would never come in handy? Thanks Ms Superdock!
