    Catfish King Hushpuppies... R.I.P.

I just sat down and ordered my normal Cajun Special with 1/2 dozen hushpuppies to go with it. When they bring it out I said ma'am... I know I ordered hushpuppies but I meant the other ones (long skinny) that y'all are famous for. She said they didn't have them anymore and the regular ones were all they'd be carrying. They sold the hushpuppy plant!!! Please remove your hat for a moment of silence...

So what kind do they have now... To be honest I wasnt a big fan of the long ones.. Always very dry. Might just be the ones we eat at though.

Me either! I wonder if they still have that green tomato relish? I never really liked those bland hush puppies that looked like they came out of a caulking gun.
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

They have the regular drop hush puppies and they're really good but I loved the old ones.

And Rudey yes they still have the tomato relish.

that's terrible.Used to stand 'em all up in the beans, and eat 'em when they were good and soaked. They closed up shop in waxahachie a few years ago, haven't had em since then.

WHATTTTT that is a bad deal. I liked using the long ones as an edible spoon for their cole slaw. Man end of an era

Catfish King and Pines on Caddo were the only hushpuppies I cared for. Guess I'm outta luck on both ends now. I'll stick to beer n mustard fried crappie anyhow. Gotta go get the fryer cookin as I speak!!!

I remember as a child going to The Stage Coach Inn just for hush-puppies on Sunday afternoons. Had fried fish as a side dish

I didn't care for the hushpuppies. The new ones are terrible tho. Slew I'm pretty positive that pines place is still open. If it's the place I'm thinking of. My favorites are called worlds greatest hushpuppies with jalapeƱo and onion
