Run a R1 for the OS/Application, R1 for the Transaction Logs and a R5,R6 or R10 for the data.

At the very least create a seperate volume on the OS/Appllication drives to keep the transaction logs seperated from the OS/Application and Data.

As for the Data...It all depends on the drives sizes, recovery point objective and budget as to R5/R6 or R10.

For a Mission Critical Application - such as TBH. I would go with R1/R1/R10....I realize this may not be feasible based upon budget.

      Bare minimum I would do R1 (2 x 300GB 10K SAS HDD's) and create two 150GB Volumes...One for the OS/Application and the other for the transaction logs...then create a R5 (min 3 hdd's - one drive is for parity)

I don't really care for R6 as you loose two drives for parity but gain very little additional fault tolerance.

R10 (minimum 4 HDD's) a mirror stipe so you get great read and write speeds with great fault tolerance.

Thanks for a great site that has given me HOURS of fun and entertainment. The best $11.50 I ever spent on entertainment. TBH the best bowhunting forum on the web and I am proud to flaunt my badge!

Can someone translate this to English for me? Shoot, nevermind, I wouldn't understand anyway

Do what ya gotta do Bossman. We'll be here when you're done but please, please, please keep her running for the next two days. Two days in a hotel sucks but two days in a hotel without TBH would REALLY suck

I'm sure your team is 100% capable and if not the green screen has enough folks that would rally to fix this.

I'd also offer if you run into any problems my company has a number of sql, database and network guys that I'd be happy to loan.

I also own a multimillion dollar data center with multiple redundancies and have plenty of system resources if you needed something in a pinch for short term.

Micheal, thanks for everyting that you and the team do for the site. I just about had the wife convinced that it was a problem with my laptop and I needed a new one. She did not buy that story. Oh well, back to normal.
