I have a Smith & Wesson 32-20, 6 shot revolver, this gun was made I think in or before the 1920's. This gun was given to my Dad when he was a young man and since his passing was given to me, trying to find out the value of this gun. It has the S&W emblem on the handle and 32-20 CTG. stamped on the side of barrell and made in spain behind the trigger and #48316 on the butt of grip, and has use u.s. standard ammunition across top of barrell, this is the only markings on this gun. I have been told the value could range anywhere from $350.00 to $1,500.00, if any of my TBH brother's could steer me right I would be greatful. Here are some pics

    God Bless

sounds like it has more sentimental value than monetary.....either way it's an amazing gun and you are very lucky to have it your possesion.

I see some on gunbroker.com from about $400 in pretty crappy condition to some in the $1,100-$1,500 range.

            mr bish

            very nice peice sir

IMO , the blue book is no longer indicative of real world prices and can only be used as a reference or starting point

go to the i-net gunbroker.com , gunsamerica.com and get an idea of selling prices.

hope this helps and in reality ..... that revolver is PRICELESS

Call S&W and give them the serial number, they'll be able to tell you when the pistol was made. I don't think it's as old as you think. I'm guessing from the 40's or 50's. Don't reblue or restore the pistol, you'll lose any value it might have had. If it has sentimental value then put it in a shadow box and hang it on the wall.

According to what I read on that model, they stopped making it in 1940 so it is at least 70 years old.

I don't think those are the original grips. They should have a diamond shape where the screw goes through.

The prices on GunBroker, Auction Arms, etc aren't indicative of value either--you have to do a search and look only at the ones that actually sold--and check what they sold for. Value is what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller--nothing more, nothing less.

I have a Gun Trader's Guide book dated 2007 that shows this gun at the following price based on condition.

                        NIB: $438
                        Ex: $308
                        Gd: $242

These may be low values and recommend you looking at gunbroker.com to see what others are selling them for
