    aerobic septic systems question.

I have heard that there is a bleaching system you can buy for you aerobic system that allows you to just poor a bottle of bleach in and it will drip in at a slow rate or something like that. Does anyone here work on these systems or know someone to talk to.

The reason I ask the tablets cost to much and we run out to fast.

I use a company here called Bonds Septic. And they design and build them to use chlorine tablets. Never heard of the bottle route.

I use tablets as well and they are a pain in the butt......I will ask my FIL about the drip system. He has been installing septics for ever and will know if there is a design like that.

I've had my drip system for 4 years. I pour 3 gallons in per quarter. Way cheaper than biscuits

8.5 years now and nothing but a money pit (well that and what it's built for)

I have the drip system in mine and I put about 2 gallons in it per week. Depends on my water usage though.

Been using the bleach for 6 months and seemed to be working fine. I think it pays for itself in a year.

Here is some info. We use the bleach chlorination in systems we have installed.

Yep. Those little air pumps are expensive to replace every couple years. Not to mention required service contract, and the tablets.

We use the bleach drip system and it works great. Lot cheaper than tablets. The design on ours would not be hard to duplicate. I paid $25.00 for mine and could have built it for $2.00.

I dont know any other way. This was installed when the house was built. I have never had to repalce anything and my contract is 200 a year and my guy buys and pours the clorine in himself. I don't do anything but fill it up and pay him the contract fee. Sounds like yall need to shop around.

We can have nothing but the aerobic in our county now and I'm glad. While the annual contract is kinda high for what they do, the bleach is much cheaper than the tabs. I have the tabs and hate it. My contractor told me a drip system is about $250 to install, but it pays for itself (a gallon a month or so). I hated the field line system cause the lower end was always wet/soft and stunk. Your county health department can lead you to authorized contractors.
