I need a good virus killer program ASAP!!

Something has got me good and I need a quick fix. I have a virus that is blocking my CD/DVD drive from working on data downloads, thus blocking my anti-virus software. It is also blocking me from going to a anti-virus download site. I need this sucker killed. Does anyone have a program that they can email me? jamesmbryan@y-a-h-o-o

Matt, can you download combofix from combofix.org?

no worries brother....if'n it's broke...I am just a few miles down the road....

try the combofix and or you can maybe try, depending on the bug you have, reboot in safe mode then try a system restore back to when you are 100% certain you did not have the bug...

Restart in safe mode, then try to download AVG or whichever you choose. It worked for me. Good luck!

PC Tools worked for me with a trojan virus I picked up that Mcafee couldn't handle.

I have been fighting the same kind of virus on my kids laptop for a week now. This one was called pc internet security 2011. It jacks with the download services on your pc so you cannot install anything. Is time to wipe her computer clean. Thought I had it beat till it came back yesterday.
This virus mimicks all of the malware/spybot type protectors but the screen color is different which gives it away. Had over 300 registry additions after it loaded so is hard to tell what all it has hit.

                  Good luck.

Thanks but I gave up and is in the shop now. I screwed up and didnt make a restore disk or put avg on when I bought it. I know better but am good at procrastination and is gonna cost this time.
I can usually beat these things but this one is a good one.

Try to access your protection in safe mode at startup.

I've put Windows Security Essentials on my home computer and laptop and have had no problems since.
