    Guess I won't be buying...

    this property.

I have been looking at a piece of property and talking with the young man (realtor) who owns it. He drove me around the place a few weeks ago and it looked pretty nice. I asked him if I could go back out there and actually walk the property by myself and put up a couple trail cameras to see what kind of wildlife are frequenting the place. He said he had no problem, in fact he would like to see the photos also, and asked me to just get in touch with him the day I plan to go out there.

Well, I was planning on going out there this afternoon and emailed, texted and left him messages to see if it was ok. After not hearing from him, I contacted his father (also a realtor) to make sure it was cool. He proceeded to tell me "that under no circumstances can I go out there, walk the property and put up trail cameras. He said "you have seen enough of the property and if you wanted to see any more of it, you need to write up a contract. He said "you will not find a better deal anywhere and write a contract if you're interested. I told him "fine, sell it to someone else" and ended the call.

Guess dad doesn't want son to sell his property.

Sorry, I'm not going to drop a couple hundred grand on a piece of property without walking it and verifying the type and abundance of wildlife on it.

    Your thoughts.......

Agree 100%. What a jackwagon. Thats like going to buy a car and only getting to test drive it from the parking space to the front door. Hope you can get back in touch with the son. Good luck

So much for a Realtor being in a service-oriented industry. Low price should not equal bad service.

should have been more patient and talked to the son.

Yep, I'd walk on that guy. He can find a buyer that's willing to put up with a seller that's unwilling to work with a potential buyer in order to make him feel comfortable about his purchase. Come on...it's a huge investment. Does this guy expect you to buy it with minimal information?

It's a touché situation for you to be on the property without an agent with you.

As far as the father realitor being so blunt and not wanting to at least talk about your inquirey, I wouldnt buy 1/4 an acre for $5 from him just outta spite...

Who knows, he may be trying to buy it himself...

look at it from both sides; if you are buying a house do you get to stay in it a few nights to make sure you like it??? but i can also see your point also

I'd talk to the son again just to see...what's the worst he could tell you...the same his pops did?

like said above, pops might not want him to sell it or he might want it himself...so just out of the spite factor...track down the son...and ask who's name is on the deed....

I'm a Realtor and there is nothing wrong with you walking the property by yourself especially when it is his own property. Sounds like dad has some kind of agenda. I would talk to the son again. He may not have any idea what happened with his dad.
