My Son Left for the Navy Monday

Just wanted someone to talk to, my son left for the navy monday and though i thought i was prepared its been pretty hard on me. I know i dont post a whole lot but im on the green screen every day lurking. I am very proud of him and he was excited about leaving, as a matter a fact i think he was doing alot better than i was when he left. Just wanted to ask everyone to pray for him and wish him well.

It's a bitter sweet time, ours went 3 1/2 years ago, he's been in Japan for 3 of those, now in Norfolk Va. You'll very impressed the day you watch him graduate from basic...you should be proud! I know I am of you and your son!

Hopefully he will do well and like it. Congrats on your son serving all of us. Prayers for a successful tour of duty whether it is 4 years or a 30 year retirement.

My brother retired with 26 years in the Navy.

It will be harder on you than him! He is in good hands! What field is he interested in? I was in aviation, VP-45" and had a ball, wish I had stayed in. We have a great web site, take a look!

I have a son in the USMC and a son-iin-law in the Army. It is a noble thing for our young people to do. Tell him "Thank You" for his service to our country.

He's becoming a man and will mature more in the next few months and years than he has at any other time in his life. I'm sure you are proud, deep down inside, but it still hurts when they leave the "nest." Stay strong for him and let him know you love him.

Its people like him that help keep us free and I thank you both!

Tell your son thank you for me. I still remember the day I left my mother did fine until it was time for the goodbyes and she fell apart. The day I graduated from basic was the first time I remember my Dad ever telling me he was proud of me will never forget that day.
