Any info is appreciated as far as pay/hours/pros & cons. I am thinking about teaching summer school(4 day schedule) at my current school which is Dulles Middle School in Fort Bend ISD. Thanks guys.
do it while you don't have kids and put the extra money back. Once you have kids you will want to enjoy your time with them and you will have the extra money to do so from those years of teaching summer school.

Haha. I typed it fast and spelled it wrong. I am an ELA teacher but am certified in it all so I wonder if they would allow me to teach anything I am certified in.
On a side note, that looks like some of my students writing
I did it for three years and then last year I didnt and it was awesome! If you like to hunt, and have a place to go then go spend your time off wisely!
Now I have a three week old and have an excuse not to go. but to me it was more worth it to have that extra summer time!
Even though the pay was really good. 20 bux an hour for four days. Ended up doubling my pay for one month. But still not worth it. By the end of school if your like me you just want away from all those heathens! Dont go back!

My summer gig pays me about 6k....hard to pass that up! Especially with things headed the way they are now. I'll take all the extra I can get right now!
I just talked to some of my teachers during passing period and they said $28 an HOUR and $30 if math/science. AND they give you all the materials so there is no planning involved.
Sounds like a win/win to me and its close to half a day and you can pick whether you want to teach 1 session or both.
Keep info coming from those of yall who have done/not done it
Should make your daily rate, and should be able to teach anything you are certified in. It's easy money, less kids, and less chances for them to mess up. They miss too many days they're gone, they get in trouble, they're gone. Hard to beat it for the money you can make.
Id do it If I could be the guy standing on the trailer not doing anything!
Haha!!! I am goign to think long and hard about this but I think I will do it. And continue with baseball lessons during the summer for even more additional lessons. Thanks guys, keep the good info coming.
