threw my hunting stuff in the trash can today

Well sort of. Me and the girls piced up some of the walnut and hickory nuts and a few pine cones in a yard trash can and tossed my hunting clothes inside with a lid on it. I will leave it enclosed for a couple days and then I will be ready for deer season! I usually do this with pine branches, grasses, and apples or a variety of local tree nuts. I do not know if it is the best thing to do, but I usually always see deer. Black Walnuts are some of the strongest smelling things around and it doesn't take a lot to get that smell to stick on your clothes. I think the pine cones are just to humor my girls. They like to think that they help.

Just better hope one doesn't sneak up behind you and take a bite out of your...uhhhhh... walnuts.

I read an article about a guy doing something like this. Said he kept a barrell in the back of his truck with cedar branches and other stuff from his local hunting area in it and kept his clothes in it. After a hunt the clothes would go right back in it until the next hunt. He said it worked. Makes sense to me. I was thinking about trying it this year as well. Cheap natural cover scent!

I did it with cedar once. One good thing about using that is the lack of bugs that observe your presence. Walnuts will do this a little bit also. I guess you all could try prickley pear and all that other thorney stuff you all have!ha,ha,ha.

One of these days I am going to to use C'mere deer with my treestand clothes! That stuff is hard to find here though. We cannot "bait" here in Indiana. Please hold off on the neg. stuff I would do it to if it was legal. Just trying to do what ever is legal here.
Apples are great too! I do not know how many apple trees are down there either though.

I thought also about boiling a couple batches and throwing it in a bottle or two, but the bad thing about walnuts, is the smell can be overwhelming and will season a pot with the smell also. My wife doesn't cook much and she hates cleaning that big pot but she crap as I do it she would kick my a!@ for doing it.
