We are looking to buy a new SUV and the wife is really wanting a 2011 Infinity QX56. She has driven one and likes the amenities. She has been through a lot the last few months and deserves it.
I have purchased several vehicles in my time and I have never really dealt with any of the "Premium" car dealers. From what I have found over the last week, to me, it seems that "traditional dealing" all goes out the window when negotiating with them. It is really bugging me to death on the 2 deals we have tried to work, they just won't budge at all. I have seen 2 used QX's with 2-8K miles on them selling for new prices and they just won't move off the price.
These folks are pretty arrogant and walking out of the dealership does not work, they will just sell it to someone else and it seems in Texas, most buyers pay cash for them. I have spent more than my fair share of time in negotiation training seminars as I too am a salesman and these folks just don't work under the general rules of a transaction. There is no give on their part, is the economy just that good in Texas to support their stance? I have seen deals in Atlanta, Ga and Ohio where they are $4-5K off the sticker price.
We have a Suburban LTZ and if we have to, we will get another one, most likely a GMC as we have not had good luck with the Chevy this go around.
Anyone have any input?
