We had always heard that as well, but have been finding out lately that the majority of those rumors are a bit false. We have been trying lots of different animals and fish that we had always heard werent good to eat, through rumor and folklore, but rarely from anyone who had ever actually tried the meat. Aoudad sounds like it is quite good. Black Buck is very good. Permit (fish) is very good. Black Drum, delicious. If you just look at the animal or fish, look at what it eats and what it does in its day to day activity as well as its athleticism, rather than what someone heard from their grandpappy about what is good and what isn't, you will find your tablefare can grow 10 fold over what you had previously been putting on it.

Sorry all was out enjoying the NM mountain air. We tried with the bows and crossbows at first but with the layer of ice and snow on the ground and solid rock made for nearly impossibly stalking conditions.

Headed out tomorrow to try again with the bows, will post some harvest photos when I return!
