    Gps acreage mapping tool

I read a thread on here a while back that had a website address you could go to, you could look at a satellite map of a piece of land, then click you mouse around the border of it and it would then calculate the acreage for you. Does anyone still have that link? Thanks

Just use google earth. Use the distance tool and add up the perimeter of your place.

I use the Google Earth measuring tool on properties almost daily. Set it to measure polygon, click your corners, and it will give you square footage, acres, miles, etc.

It is surprisingly accurate when compared to surveyed properties.

Can you elaborate on that? I have Google Earth, but I can't find what you're talking about. THANKS!

There is an icon at the top, looks like a little ruler. Click on that and fool with the different settings. Or under Tools, click Ruler.

You might need to download a newer version, depending on how long since you last updated.

??? I'm not sure about that. Isn't the ruler also in the free version?

I'm updating mine now, man I hope you are right, because that would be sweet. I thought acreage was pro only.
